The Congo Peace Project is a grassroots organization our mission is to fight for women’s health and education in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Our project works to aid women in Congo and empower the next generation for change, through impact and advocacy.
Our mission is twofold: help empower Congolese women and youth to INSPIRE the nation's future, with tools for menstrual hygiene and resources for educational advancement.
Women and youth are targeted in a country where most will earn less than a dollar a day and women are likely to be the victim of sexual assault. We aim to resource the Congo's most vulnerable people to not just support but inspire youth and women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to be their nation’s future. We hope to impact and advocate for Congolese lives through monthly work parties and events to bring light to issues that face the Congolese people every day, issues we should care about in a world that is more interconnected than ever. WE can no longer stay silent to the Congolese people's suffering.
Our mission serves as a reminder of what we do and why we do it.
The people of the Congo need us to speak up and amplify their voices, if not US, then who. If not now WHEN, if not YOU, then WHO?
Why menstrual equity? Why educational equity?
We hope to alleviate the barriers that the Congolese people face to simply living their lives. In hopes of mobilizing the people of the Congo in the fight for peace.
Women deserve equitable access to supplies for menstrual hygiene.
Youth deserve equitable access to supplies for educational advancement.
These are not PRIVILEGES these are HUMAN RIGHTS!
